J McDonald is an artist and designer based in Brooklyn, NY. Founded in 2012, his company Shape Studio designs and creates furniture, interiors, sets and sculptures. Specializing in fine architectural metalwork but working across a range of materials and styles, Shape Studio brings realizes contemporary design through a love of detail and craft. J is also one half of the art-furniture collective OFF, which launched with a show of prototypes at Senaspace Gallery in 2015. J maintains an independent sculpture practice and has been awarded art residencies around the country and world, as well as showing work in group and solo exhibitions throughout NYC.
